NOVITA 7 BROTHERS YARN – NOW WITH MORE WOOL

For many decades Novita 7 Veljestä has been the best known and loved yarn among Finnish knitters. The yarn has now been updated and it contains more wool than ever before.

Novita 7 Veljestä is Finland’s best-selling sock yarn, and its popularity is due to a carefully crafted composition and twist, which makes it suitable for a wide range of projects. Now the yarn has been updated to contain more wool, making it even bouncier and better to work with. The updated 7 Veljestä is made of 80 % wool and 20 % polyamide, while the earlier ratio was 75 % to 25 %.

With the update Novita takes yet another step on its path towards a more sustainable production, reducing the use of polyamide by 20 000 kilograms annually. Knitters will enjoy the update too, since the 7 Veljestä is now not only more ecological, but also better to work with.

Novita 7 Veljestä is a yarn that’s made to last. To make the yarn suitable for socks and other hardwearing items, it needs to have a bit of synthetic fiber in it. Novita uses polyamide, which is a supreme fiber to use in yarns since it keeps its shape well and dries fast.

At Novita, sustainability is one of the key values, and the 7 Veljestä update is one step towards being even more responsible. Since 2020 Novita has been a carbon neutral company and aims to be continuously more ecological in both products and production.

The update affects the whole 7 Veljestä product family. Along with the traditional single-colour 7 Veljestä yarn also 7 Veljestä Nummi, Raita, and Novita Runo yarns now have the new composition.
